A blonde and a brunette were walking down the street when they passed a little flower shop.
The brunette suddenly stopped.
Through the window, she spotted her boyfriend standing at the counter, holding an enormous bouquet of red roses.
She sighed dramatically.
“Oh, crap. My boyfriend is buying me flowers again…”
The blonde smiled. “That sounds sweet.”
“Sweet?” the brunette groaned. “Every time he buys me flowers, I’m expected to spend the entire weekend on my back with my legs in the air!”
The blonde raised an eyebrow.
“Wow. That sounds exhausting.”
“It is!” the brunette said. “Last time, I barely got any sleep!”
The blonde thought for a moment, then smiled confidently.
“Don’t worry. I know exactly what you should do.”
“What?”
“Buy him a hammock.”
The brunette blinked.
“A hammock?”
“Yep,” said the blonde. “That way, when he gives you the flowers, you can tell him you’ve already made weekend plans.”
The brunette stared at her friend for a second.
Then she burst out laughing.
“You’re terrible!”
“I prefer ‘practical,’” the blonde replied.
Just then, the boyfriend walked out of the flower shop.
He handed the enormous bouquet to the brunette and smiled.
“Surprise, sweetheart! These are for you.”
She smiled back.
“Thank you!”
Then she looked at the blonde.
The blonde whispered, “Remember the hammock.”
The brunette started laughing again.
Her boyfriend looked confused.
“What’s so funny?”
She hugged the flowers and said, “Nothing, honey. I just realized you’re going to have a very interesting weekend.”
The boyfriend smiled.
“I already made reservations.”
The brunette froze.
“For what?”
“A couples’ spa.”
She looked at the blonde.
The blonde slowly nodded.
“Okay… maybe skip the hammock.”
They both burst out laughing as the boyfriend stood there completely bewildered.
And from that day on, whenever the brunette’s boyfriend bought flowers, she never complained.
She just asked one question:
“Should I pack the hammock?”
